FREE CHURCH KILMORE 1853 |
---|
This congregation, under the pastoral care of the Rev. John Hume, had the privilege of worshipping last Lord's Day in their new church. The Rev. William Miller, of Melbourne, preached suitable sermons to a most attentive audience. The church was well filled all day, and the collections amounted to upwards of £54.
It is a handsome stone building, and, as it stands in a beautiful situation, when finished, will have a fine effect. It is seated for about 250, and when the gallery is erected will seat fifty more.
Mr. Hume and his people are entitled to much credit, for diligence and good management, as we understand they have succeeded in opening their church free of debt.
They had a soiree last Tuesday.
